DB Schenker is aware of its economic, ecological and social responsibility and we are actively involved in several global projects. We consider it our duty to keep our responsibility as a logistics provider in the forefront of our minds.
During the qualification week at the beginning of October, all trainees of the international trainee program “Talents@DB Schenker Logistics” visited the multi-generation house in Essen-Frohnhausen, Germany and supported the social project by active field work.
This included renovating the kindergarden and experiencing common yard work. The multi-generation house “St. Anna” is an initiative to support and connect the neighbourhood and to promote the exchange between generations.
The qualification week is an essential part of the trainee program next to the stations in various departments. Every six months all trainees participate in a qualification week which aims to strengthen the social skills as well as the cross-functional business know-how of the trainees. Therefore, Global HR Development as the program coordinator organizes regularly trainings covering topics as e.g. cultural awareness and logistics knowledge. Furthermore various teambuilding activities and excursions complete the qualification weeks. Target of the social day in Essen was to raise the trainees’ awareness for social engagement, teambuilding processes, teamwork and to support the region Essen where DB Schenker Logistics is headquartered.
